Molecular diagnostics has emerged as the fastest growing segment in the in vitro diagnostic industry and plays more and more important roles in pharmacogenomics/precision medicine, genetic disease screening, and pathogen detection. However, currently available methods usually require sophisticated equipment and costly reagents, which hinder their applications.
Taking the advantage of nanotechnology, we developed a nanoprobe-based platform for molecular diagnostics. The new nanoprobes are highly specific in recognizing target DNA sequences. The platform will distinguish itself from other available technologies through its high accuracy, ease of use and low cost. Three precision medicine assays will be highlighted in the talk to demonstrate the applications of the new detection platform.
报告人简介:
祖延兵博士本科毕业于复旦大学化学系,在武汉大学化学系获得理学博士学位。曾在厦门大学及美国德克萨斯大学奥斯丁分校作博士后研究员,并在英国医学研究会剑桥线粒体研究所及香港大学从事研究工作。目前在新加坡科研局生物工程与纳米技术研究所(A*STAR-IBN)任职Principal Research Scientist,主要从事分子诊断,生物传感器及纳米技术的研究。
